Award Is the Only College Football Honor Determined Exclusively by Fan Voting

SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Four nominees for the AT&T All-America Player of the Week award have been announced after the fifth week of college football action, and now it's up to the fans to determine the winner. University of Kentucky quarterback Andre Woodson, University of Illinois wide receiver Arrelious Benn, University of Wisconsin running back P.J. Hill and University of California wide receiver DeSean Jackson have been selected by ESPN as this week's top candidates based on their outstanding performances. Fans can determine the winner by sending the text message VOTE to 87654 from a wireless phone.

Woodson went 26-33 with 301 yards and a career-high of five touchdowns in the Wildcats' 45-17 win over Florida Atlantic. Woodson won AT&T's All-America Player of the Week in week three. Fighting Illini wide receiver Benn had six receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown in their 27-20 win against Penn State, and also had a kickoff return for 90 yards and a touchdown. This is the second week in a row that a University of Illinois player has been nominated. Wisconsin running back Hill had 34 rushes for 155 yards and two touchdowns in the Badger's 37-34 win over Michigan State. Hill's rushing yards helped Wisconsin extend the nation's longest winning streak to 14 and it is the second time Hill has been nominated for Player of the Week. Wide receiver Jackson helped the Golden Bears' 31-24 upset at Oregon with 11 receptions, 161 yards and two touchdowns. His receptions and yards were career-bests.

Fans have until 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday to submit their votes. The winner will be announced Oct. 4 at halftime during Thursday's ESPN College Football Primetime Presented by Applebee's college football game between Kentucky and South Carolina. There is no limit on fan voting, and each vote counts as one entry into a sweepstakes to win a trip to the 2008 BCS National Championship game in New Orleans.

The AT&T All-America Player of the Week program will continue throughout the season, with the nominees being revealed each Sunday on ESPN's "SportsCenter" at 9 a.m. ET and on the Web at http://www.espnallamerica.com/. AT&T customers can visit AT&T's wireless NCAA(R) Football Portal on their handsets to view video highlights of each week's candidates, retrieve photos, check scores, track their favorite teams and download school ringtones.

In December, four finalists for the AT&T All-America Player of the Year award will be announced during a one-hour special on ABC Sports, when the Football Writers Association of America All-America team will also be announced. Fans will then get a chance to say who the best player in the nation is by voting for the AT&T All-America Player of the Year up until the Bowl Championship Series. Voting ends Jan. 4, and the winner will be announced during the BCS National Championship game on FOX Jan. 8.

Last year, University of Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn was crowned as the AT&T All-America Player of the Year after beating out Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith - the Heisman Trophy winner - Rutgers running back Ray Rice and Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan. Voting for the AT&T All-America Player of the Year was the highest total in the three-year history of the award.

NEW YORK, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- COMEDY CENTRAL has reached an agreement with BLUEPRINT ENTERTAINMENT and BREAKTHROUGH FILMS & TELEVISION to license 10 new episodes of the reality/comedy series "Kenny vs. Spenny," it was announced today by Lauren Corrao, executive vice president original programming and development, COMEDY CENTRAL. As part of the deal, COMEDY CENTRAL will also acquire 10 existing episodes from the "Kenny vs. Spenny" library. The series is set to premiere on COMEDY CENTRAL on November 14.

Who among us hasn't challenged someone to a staring contest or dared a friend to wear a dead octopus on their head longer than you can?" said Corrao. CINCINNATI, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Grace Gilchrist, who has guided WXYZ-TV, Channel 7, to its perennial status as Detroit's leading television news organization, has announced that she plans to retire by the end of the year.

Gilchrist's retirement will cap a long and successful career in television station management and advertising sales. She has served as vice president and general manager of WXYZ for 13 years, earning the distinction as the station's longest serving chief executive.

WXYZ is owned and operated by The E. W. Scripps Company. Gilchrist notified Scripps in June of her intention to retire by year's end.

Girls Gone Wild founder and CEO Joe Francis has been sitting in jail for the past six months, not because he's been convicted of a crime, but because he's been refused bail by a judge in a small Florida town that seems intent on making some sort of example of him.

The original charges against Francis involve a 2003 incident in Panama City, Florida in which cameramen not directly employed by "Girls Gone Wild" filmed sexual situations involving young women who lied about their ages on camera and in written releases in order to appear on "Girls Gone Wild." Joe Francis was not present and didn't even meet the women until after the filming. Yet Panama City authorities hit Francis with a staggering list of criminal charges.

They seized Francis' private jet and announced that cocaine had been found on the plane. This claim, as well as many others made in a Sheriff's Department press release, turned out to be a complete falsehood. A Florida judge declared that the Sheriff's Department also lied repeatedly in their warrants against Joe Francis and as a result, most of the criminal charges were dropped.
