Buzztime(R) Launches New Single-Player Games in Four Cable TV Systems

Buzztime(R) Launches New Single-Player Games in Four Cable TV Systems

Expanding the Buzztime Game Service beyond Trivia Game Shows is Expected to Broaden Buzztime's Cable TV Audience

CARLSBAD, Calif., Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Buzztime Entertainment, Inc., a subsidiary of NTN Communications, Inc. (AMEX:NTN), announced today that its "Buzztime Single-Player Games" package is now installed and available for play in four U.S. cable systems. These offerings expand the Buzztime Network game service on each of these four systems, all of which already offer the Buzztime Trivia Channel, the only U.S. interactive television game channel that enables real-time multi-player game competitions.

"We are very pleased that cable systems are expanding their Buzztime Network offerings with our new games," said Tyrone Lam, president of Buzztime Entertainment. "Our plan is continue to add fun, TV-centric games to the Buzztime Network in order to expand our audience of players within the cable system".

The first six Buzztime games deployed are: Poker, Checkers, Hexagone(TM), Jungle-Bop(TM), Memory and Solitaire. Like the Buzztime Trivia Channel, these single-player games are being provided for free by cable operators to all of their digital cable subscribers. Buzztime has an inventory of over 50 additional single-player games to add to its iTV games package.

"The addition of single-player games is part of an aggressive strategy to expand both content and distribution of our Buzztime Network across all interactive platforms, including cable TV, satellite TV, mobile phones, retail games and our own hospitality network of nearly 4,000 sites across North America," said Stanley Kinsey, Chairman and CEO of NTN Communications.

In addition, two more Buzztime "multi-player" games, Buzztime Texas Hold'em and Buzztime Billiards, are being considered by cable operators for potential installations. These new multi-player games feature another iTV industry first for Buzztime, allowing players from all Buzztime Network systems to compete against other players in real-time virtual game rooms. Buzztime believes its continued growth of game content offerings will create an increasingly compelling Buzztime Network offering for consumer play in cable systems, helping to reduce churn and increase digital cable penetration.
