Legendary Actor James Earl Jones to Read to Students at Hampton Cove Elementary Nov. 1; Verizon Foundation to Announce Innovative Partnership With the Alabama Learning Exchange
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Legendary actor and Verizon brand ambassador James Earl Jones will read to Hampton Cove Elementary School children Thursday (Nov. 1) at an event at the school to announce a statewide partnership of the Verizon Foundation's Thinkfinity.org and the Alabama Department of Education's Alabama Learning Exchange (ALEX). The two organizations will bring innovative online education resources to teachers, parents and students -- free of charge -- through Thinkfinity.org.
Also at the event, the Verizon Foundation will present a sizable grant to the Alabama Department of Education to support the ALEX Web site, curriculum materials and training for Alabama teachers.
