Jetset Studios Get Knocked Up
Internet Marketers Featured in New Universal Pictures' Comedy From Director Judd Apatow
LOS ANGELES, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- One of the most anticipated movies of the summer, Universal Pictures' Knocked Up, will arrive in theaters June 1 with a creative thank you to Jetset Studios from the film's writer/director/producer Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin). In the film, one of the main characters is actually employed by a web design agency known as Jetset Studios.
Jetset is the online creative agency of choice for Apatow Productions, having created websites for many of the company's projects, including The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby, Kicking & Screaming and Knocked Up. Internet magicians and Jetset principals, Russell Scott and Patrick Young, have also fashioned memorable branding and positioning campaigns for Blades of Glory, King Kong, Barnyard, Hostel and The Hills Have Eyes, among others. Even so, they consider this onscreen recognition of their ongoing creative collaboration with Judd Apatow to be the defining moment in their company's history.
"Jetset Studios is that rare company that shares our comedic sensibilities," says director Judd Apatow. "They understand how to create websites that capture the tone of the film in a fun, relatable way."
Scott and Young's almost-childlike passion for science fiction, horror, rock and roll, comedy and all things pop culture has manifested into Jetset Studios, a company that puts its creative soul into its sites. To that end, they have established a high-end client roster including Paramount, Sony, Universal Pictures, 20th Century Fox and Disney. Their collaborations have turned into lasting relationships with not only Apatow, but also other filmmakers including horror master Wes Craven. Notes Scott, "Charm, pop culture chops and good ideas can take you almost anywhere."
Young agrees. "And we are thrilled and honored to work with Judd and Apatow Productions."
About the film:
On the heels of 2005's blockbuster The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Judd Apatow again mines hilarity from the relatably human in a comedy about a one-night stand with unexpected consequences: Knocked Up. Katherine Heigl (Grey's Anatomy) joins Virgin alums Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann for a comic look about the best thing that will ever ruin your best-laid plans: parenthood.
Russell and Patrick are available for interviews, coffee and burgers.
