On Screen Entertainment Options Children's Book Series By Tiki and Ronde Barber
NEW YORK, Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Television production company On Screen Entertainment has optioned the rights to the children's books based on the childhoods of NFL twin superstars Tiki and Ronde Barber. "By My Brother's Side" (2004) and "Game Day" (October 2005), both published by Paula Wiseman Books/Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, will serve as the inspiration for an animated children's series aimed at the tween market.
The series, to be produced by On Screen Entertainment and developed by seasoned animation writer and producer, Allan Neuwirth, will be based on the Barber twins' experiences growing up in Roanoke, Virginia. Both Tiki and Ronde Barber will be actively involved in the creative content of the show and development of all characters and storylines.
"We are very excited to work with the Barbers," adds Orly Wiseman, On Screen Entertainment Co-President. "Tiki and Ronde are great role models for today's children."
"Tiki and Ronde are thrilled to be developing their stories for television," said their business agent, Mark Lepselter. "We have always chosen our partners very carefully and like Simon & Schuster, On Screen Entertainment reflects the quality reputation that meets our standards."
The series, a coming of age comedy, focuses on the NFL superstars as ten- year-old boys. The episodes will emphasize the values of teamwork, family, dedication and determination both on and off the field.
"The growth of team sports for tween boys and girls in this country is enormous," says Nikki Silver, On Screen Entertainments Co-President. "And through these sports, children are learning valuable social skills that will stay with them for a lifetime."
