Directed and written by George Romero and starring John Leguizamo, Dennis Hopper, Simon Baker and Asia Argento, LAND OF THE DEAD is the fourth installment in Romero's "Dead" series -- and uniformly cited to be his ultimate zombie masterpiece. In LAND OF THE DEAD, the living dead have taken over the world, leaving the last humans walled up in a city where they make a desperate, final stand to protect themselves. The ragtag group of hardened mercenaries become locked in an action-packed race to stop the destruction of mankind from a depraved army of the dead that have evolved into more advanced and threatening creatures.
