LA Weekly Names Scott Foundas New Film Editor

LOS ANGELES, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Scott Foundas has been announced as L.A. Weekly's Film Editor. Foundas will be heading up an award-winning team of film critics, reviewers and writers including longtime L.A. Weekly film critic Ella Taylor, as well as Brendan Bernhard, Ron Stringer, Ernest Hardy, David Chute and F.X. Feeney among others.

Foundas is a member of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, the National Society of Film Critics and International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI). His writing has appeared regularly in the entertainment trade publication Variety and the Canadian film quarterly Cinema Scope. He has also been published in The Village Voice, Cineaste, Cahiers du Cinema (France) and The New York Times. Since 2004, he has been one of the rotating co-hosts of the KPCC radio program Filmweek, as well as the regular Friday-morning movie reviewer for the nationally syndicated Mark & Brian radio program, heard locally on KLOS-FM. He has served on juries at the Cannes, Sundance, Vancouver and Buenos Aires film festivals. He is a 1999 graduate of the USC School of Cinema-Television where, for three years, he was the Film Editor of the USC Daily Trojan newspaper, and has been a film critic and contributor to L.A. Weekly since 2003.

Foundas joins recently hired music editor Kate Sullivan, who started at L.A. Weekly in February after making her name with a nationally syndicated radio show, music blog and many highly respected music articles for national publications, including Spin Magazine.
