DALLAS, June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Coors Light presents the Rock Prendido '05 tour at the Smirnoff Music Center in Dallas on Sunday, July 10, 2005 featuring acclaimed rock en espanol bands Cafe Tacvba, Kinky and Maldita Vecindad. The Dallas performance is part of a 19-city U.S. tour taking the artists to several cities including New York, Los Angeles, Denver and San Diego.

"Sponsoring the Rock Prendido tour is exciting for Coors," said Paul Mendieta, director of multicultural marketing for Coors Brewing Company. "Rock en espanol bands are increasingly popular among Latinos living in the U.S. and we're proud to bring this caliber of talent to the markets in which our consumers live."

With its sizzling mix of ska, rock, hip-hop, and traditional Latin music, Cafe Tacvba is one of Mexico's hottest bands and has been named "One of the 50 Future Latin American Leaders" by Time magazine. Cafe Tacvba has enjoyed great success since 1992, releasing eight albums and sharing exciting music with audiences throughout Central, South, and North America.

The group's accomplishments include winning an MTV music award in 2005, receiving the Grammy for "Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album" in 2003 and a Latin Grammy in 1999 for "Best Rock Album." Most recently, Cafe Tacvba released a new album called "Un Viaje" in three editions: a double live CD, a DVD and a Fat Box that includes a three-CD set and the DVD. The album was recorded live on October 6 and 7, 2004 in the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. The band's four members are Sizu Yantra (lead vocals and guitar), Emmanuel Del Real (keyboards, programming, vocals and guitar), Enrique Rangel (bass and vocals) and Joselo Rangel (guitars and vocals). Since Kinky's beginning in 2000, the five-piece Latino dance, funk band has emerged from relative obscurity in the desert city of Monterrey, Mexico, to phenomenal worldwide success highlighted by three albums, movie soundtracks, and a 2003 Grammy award nomination for "Best Alternative Rock Band." Their releases include "Oye como Va" (2004), "Atlas" (2003), and "Kinky" (2000).

Mexico City's Maldita Vecindad produces one of the most original sounds in Mexican Rock combining diverse rhythms of ska, reggae and rock with Mexican folk sounds. After the band formed in 1985, it spent time touring the underground club circuit until making its self titled recording debut in 1998. The group has released five albums, most notably "El Circo" (1991) which sold 600,000 copies in Mexico.
