Expert Available on Grokster Movie and Music File-Sharing Software Case to be Heard by U.S. Supreme Court March 29

PHILADELPHIA, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- In the most significant copyright case in 20 years, attorney Geoffrey L. Beauchamp of Conrad O'Brien Gellman & Rohn, P.C., has filed an amicus brief on behalf of Macrovision Corporation in the U.S. Supreme Court. Following oral arguments March 29 in the case of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc., et al v. Grokster, Ltd., the Supreme Court will decide whether the distribution of movie and music file-sharing software by Grokster and others violates the Federal Copyright Act.

Beauchamp can answer questions about the case including,

-- What is Grokster, and what are the important issues in the movie and music file-sharing case which the Supreme Court will have to decide?

-- How will the Supreme Court's ruling affect the average consumer?

-- Is it illegal to download movies and music on the Internet without paying for them?

-- Why is the consumer electronics' industry opposed to banning file sharing of music and movies on the Internet?

-- Why is the movie industry so concerned about file sharing?

-- How do you think the Supreme Court will rule in the Grokster case?
