NEW YORK, May 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- BNY Mellon; Peter A. Hochfelder, Managing Member of Brahman Management LLC; and Ellen Levine, Editorial Director of Hearst Magazines, will be honored for their tireless efforts to improve the social and economic conditions of their communities, and their shared commitment to HELP USA's vision of ending homelessness, at HELP USA's 2015 HELP USA Hero Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 28. HELP USA is one of the nation's largest providers of housing and supportive services for the homeless, veterans, and victims of domestic violence.

This year's gala will take place at Cipriani 42nd Street beginning at 6:30 pm. The event will feature special performances by The Iconic Debbie Harry ("Blondie") and by the choir of IMPACT Repertory Theater, an organization which works to transform the lives of troubled youth through art and social consciousness.

BNY Mellon, which will be accepted by Chairman and CEO Gerald L. Hassell; Mr. Hochfelder; and Ms. Levine join a distinguished group of civic and community leaders who have been recognized at the HELP USA Hero dinners. Past honorees include President Bill Clinton; President Barack Obama; Governor Mario Cuomo; Colonel Jack Jacobs; Katie Couric; Al Gore; Larry King; Sir Elton John; Arnold Schwarzenegger; Meredith Vieira; Joe Torre; Michael Strahan; Al Roker; Lauran and Justin Tuck of the New York Giants; Christine Quinn; Sen. Charles Schumer; Randall L Stephenson; and The Home Depot Foundation, among many others.

Mr. Strahan will be an award presenter at this year's dinner, as will Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and author Anna Quindlen and prominent broadcast journalist Deborah Roberts.

New York State Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who founded HELP USA in 1986, and Ms. Cole will deliver keynote remarks.
