MINUTEMAN World Premiere at the 2010 Comic-Con International Film Festival

MINUTEMAN World Premiere at the 2010 Comic-Con International Film Festival

DALLAS, July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Dreamfly Productions, LLC (www.dreamflyproductions.com) announced today that its latest feature film, sci-fi psycho thriller MINUTEMAN, (www.minutemanthemovie.com) has been chosen as an official selection of the 2010 Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival in San Diego July 22-25.

The film festival runs simultaneously with Comic-Con International - the largest pop culture event in the world.

MINUTEMAN is scheduled to be screened on Friday, July 23 at 1:20PM.

"We're honored MINUTEMAN has been selected by such an esteemed festival," says Dreamfly Productions CEO & Executive Director Lisa Jenkins. "MINUTEMAN has it all; it's an entertaining action packed sci-fi thriller combining intrigue, a fabulous cast and a state-of-the-art video game. The Comic-Con International Film Festival is the perfect festival for MINUTEMAN, so we are excited to celebrate the MINUTEMAN world premiere at this fantastic event. What better way for the fans to discover the power of MINUTEMAN?"

MINUTEMAN stars Riley Smith (Gallowwalker, New York Minute, Radio), Willa Ford (Friday the 13th), Barry Corbin (No Country for Old Men), Christian Kane (Leverage/TV), Marshall Teague and Mark Nutter (Friday Night Lights). MINUTEMAN was written by Oscar winning director Mark Millhone, and produced by Lisa Jenkins, Dreamfly Productions, LLC.

The Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival celebrates its 10th year in 2010. Judged by a panel of industry luminaries, the CCI-IFF accepts genre-related films in the following categories: Action/Adventure, Animation, Comics-oriented, Pop Culture-Related Documentary, Horror/Suspense, Humor, and Science Fiction/Fantasy. Awards and prizes will be given out at Comic-Con International San Diego, July 22-25, with film screenings all four days of the event.

Members of MINUTEMAN's cast will be attending the festival and will take part in a speaker's panel held at the film's screening on Friday, July 23. Panel speakers include: Mark Millhone (director), Lisa Jenkins (producer), Riley Smith (Lance Deakin), Willa Ford (Becca Morgan), Christian Kane (Peacemaker), Bryan Massey (Butcher) and Barry Corbin (Col. Deakin).

MINUTEMAN's male lead, actor Riley Smith, said, "I've heard from so many people how amazing the experience of Comic-Con is. I'm so grateful that my movie, MINUTEMAN, is a part of this - I can't wait to be there."

The film revolves around Captain Lance Deakin who, after returning to civilian life as a Texas rancher, is haunted by flashbacks of MINUTEMAN, a hyper violent video game he was playing while on tour in Iraq. Exhibiting strange powers in real life, Lance is pulled deeper and deeper into the vortex of his memory, slowly realizing that the military turned him and his men into brainwashed super-soldiers to perform top secret missions. While Lance is desperately trying to piece together what happened to him, Lance's former comrades are closing in on him and Becca, his fiance, to take them out. Lance is quickly running out of time to uncover the truth and save the woman he loves.

MINUTEMAN, the Video Game has been designed by Southern Methodist University's Guild Hall graduate students and Longhorn Skull Productions, LLC. It is an interactive war game that shows the film's Minuteman characters in combat action. Cutting between the video game and the movie enhances the mystery, power and adrenaline rush of the film.
