Valerie Halaby, president of SOS and executive producer for the broadcast, is proud to have launched the first national internet telethon to honor the nation's veterans and active duty soldiers.

"The inaugural event marked the launch of the world's first internet media channel devoted to our soldiers, veterans, and their families. We'd like to encourage all Americans to continue to donate through our web site www.supportoursoldiers.org," said Halaby. Donations will go to Hope*Faith*Love*Charity, Inc., The Fisher House Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, Vietnam Veterans of America, Operation Mend, and Korean Veterans Association of America.

"Also, SOS is seeking corporate sponsors to help us air educational and inspirational programming for veterans and soldiers on our internet channel, as well as for our next national event, the SOS Freedom Concert to be held on July 4, 2010," said Halaby.
