Evander Holyfield Faces a New Challenger: Global Warming

'The Lean Green Fighting Machine' is Ready to Fight Hard for Planet Earth

ATLANTA, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- During "Climate Week" at the United Nations, 100 heads of state met to discuss four-time heavy weight boxing champion of the world, Evander Holyfield. He will announce on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 9:00 am, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel (Downtown), 265 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA that he plans to take on one of his toughest opponents yet: Global Warming. Holyfield, "The Lean Green Fighting Machine," is fighting for Planet Earth. The champ has been motivated to look for solutions for the environment and intends to build a 40 acre solar energy farm on his estate in Georgia. The solar farm will be built in collaboration with Global-NES-Georgia, Inc.

"I am proud to be a partner in the green movement to heal the earth," said Evander Holyfield. "I am also dedicated to an approach which minimizes disruption to the local community and ecosystem."

"In addition to this milestone solar project, an additional acre of my land will be used to create a working organic garden to teach neighborhood youth the importance of going green. The organic garden will be installed in cooperation with local community groups and administered by the Evander Holyfield Foundation."

"Global NES-Georgia, Inc is proud to build this project," said Ed Ukanonu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global NES. "Global NES-Georgia, Inc. is committed to providing today's most comprehensive, yet affordable, renewable energy efficiency programs, systems & technologies."

Another eco- savvy corporate partner is Caranda Foods Inc., purveyor of the world's finest African teas, coffee and spices, founded by D.H. Caranda Martin. Caranda Foods is creating and producing a special blend of teas for Evander Holyfield called the "Real Deal Tea" collection.

Television and film projects figure importantly in Evander's newly announced Green initiatives. Carey Fox of Stealth Pictures will partner with Rick Corbett and Deborah Pointer's Urban Pulse Entertainment for both television and film series following Evander's latest efforts. Talks are currently underway with networks and studios as well as Mr. Holyfield's Business Manager, Dwayne Corbitt of FarCor Studios, Los Angeles, all eager to work with the team and its cause.
