Most Dramatic Natural Events on the Planet Featured in the Series, NATURE'S MOST AMAZING EVENTS

Migration, Birth, Starvation, Hibernation, Death - A Special that Captures the Greatest Animal Spectacles on Earth!

MIAMI, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Each year, the planet is transformed through some of the most breathtaking natural events across our ecosystem, triggered by seasonal changes on a grand scale. These dramatic natural visual spectacles will be brought to life in a vivid new six-hour series filmed in high-definition. NATURE'S MOST AMAZING EVENTS, premiers on Discovery en Espanol on June 14 at 9 PM ET/PM.

NATURE'S MOST AMAZING EVENTS immerses viewers in unique natural phenomena across the globe, dictated by dramatic shifts in seasons, vast climate changes, powerful storms and mighty floods, in greater detail than ever seen before. Each episode spotlights not only changes to the landscape but also the powerful and intimate stories of the animals caught up in them. Using cutting-edge technology utilized to such success in Planeta Tierra, the series is set in the world's most iconic wilderness areas -- from the flooding of the Okavango Delta in Africa to the great summer melt of ice in the Arctic.

"We are proud to have this extraordinary series form part of Discovery en Espanol's line-up," stated Luis Silberwasser, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Discovery Networks U.S. Hispanic Group. "The high impact photography will transport audiences to remote locations, allowing them to experience nature's astounding moments as never before.

NATURE'S MOST AMAZING EVENTS features advanced time-lapse and macro photography on the ground, in the air and underwater. High-tech, high definition stabilized camera mounts were utilized, often for the first time for a natural history film, on microlights, helicopters and boats alike. Filming the series in the midst of such intense natural phenomena and wild and dangerous weather proved a considerable feat. In addition to the advanced technology, there was also the most formidable challenge of all: being in the right place at the right time to capture the action.

A glimpse at the episodes that make-up the series: Artic Summer - June 14 at 9 PM E/P

The massive Arctic snow melt triggers a chain reaction causing the dramatic arrival of millions of animals that now must share one habitat. Snow geese swirl across the skies, wolves stalk the tundra, and seals, walrus, polar bears and foxes search desperately for food.

Army of Predators - June 21 at 9 PM E/P

As winter arrives along South Africa's east coast the inshore waters cool, drawing billions of sardines and an awe inspiring cast of ocean predators. Mega pods of common dolphins, sharks and whales feast on the sardines as gannets rain down from above.

Kalahari Flood - July 5 at 9 PM E/P

The mighty Okavango River floods a sun-baked desert in Botswana, drawing in an enormous amount of wildlife towards an epic battle. The waters conceal giant crocodiles, and on land wild dogs and lions are desperate for food.

It's a crucial moment for an elephant family -- will they make it through? Pacific Feast - July 12 at 9 PM E/P

When spring falls on the Pacific Northwest coast of America it sets off a race for survival that calls all native predators to the starting block. Herring rush to spawn, and predators, -- sea otters, killer whales and seals -- attack the shoals for an easy meal. For a young humpback, this is the most dangerous time of life.

Grizzly Wilderness - July 19 at 9 PM E/P

The temperate rainforest of British Columbia, Canada, harbors more life than any other forest in the world. Cloaked by the planet's tallest trees, the last big carnivores of North America roam free - the great grizzly bear and forest wolf. Yet their survival depends entirely on one great event that runs up the forest rivers just once a year. As the rivers teem with spawning salmon the bears and wolves are drawn together and a deadly conflict unfolds.

Surviving the Serengeti - July 26 at 9 PM E/P

The parched grassland of East Africa's famous Serengeti plain is the arena for bitter rivalries between warring cheetahs, lions and hyenas as they struggle over meagre pickings. But with the arrival of the annual rains the plains momentarily flush green with fresh grass drawing in the greatest concentration of large animals on the Planet.

Filmed throughout 2007 and 2008, this epic series captures natures most awe inspiring and transcendental moments. NATURE'S MOST AMAZING EVENTS is a Discovery Channel/ BBC co-production.
