Do Something and BFF Entertainment Partner for National Best Friends Day in Times Square June 8, 2009

NEW YORK, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- DoSomething.org, one of the largest organizations in America for youth and social change, and BFF Entertainment are excited to announce a partnership for National Best Friends Day on June 8th, 2009. Best Friends Day (BFD) is a national day of celebration for best friends. Together, Do Something and BFF are championing "what you and your BFF can do today to change the world." A percentage of money raised on Best Friends Day will be donated to Do Something. The Today Show will feature BFF and Best Friends Day on June 8th.

In support of this special day, Clear Channel is providing their iconic Times Square billboard to display fun interactive content throughout the day. The billboard will feature a combination of episodes of MySpace's wildly successful original game show series BFF, slideshows from the 50 winners of BFF.TV's contest, and interactive experiences for the public who come to Times Square.

Best friends are encouraged to use Twitter to send each other messages on Best Friends Day. Each time a friend adds #BFF to a tweet, it will be streamed onto the Times Square billboard on June 8th. Additionally, best friends can text "bff" to 30644 to share their "change the world" stories and sign up for local volunteer opportunities.

1-800-FLOWERS.com has joined in the event by providing ideas on celebrating Best Friends Day on www.celebrations.com/bff and creating a unique BFF Bouquet(TM) -- a percentage of the net proceeds from the sales of the bouquet on June 8th will result in a donation to Do Something.

BFF producers are acclaimed film executive Meryl Poster, former Co-President of Production at Miramax Films, and former fashion executive David Rubin with City Lights Media.

DoSomething.org believes teenagers have the power to make a difference. We leverage communication technologies to enable teens to convert their ideas and energy into positive action. Recipient of Fast Company's Social Capitalist Award in 2008 and Webby People's Voice Award in 2009, Do Something inspires, empowers and celebrates a generation of doers (nearly 12 million kids in 2008): Teenagers who recognize the need to do something, believe in their ability to get it done, and then take action.
