LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- In an unprecedented opportunity for pianists and music enthusiasts, Steinway & Sons will simultaneously release 45 signature pianos, all signed by legendary Steinway Artist Van Cliburn, for public sale on June 20 and 21 at Steinway Hall--Ft. Worth. The pianos will be retired from the Steinway Concert & Artist Department following their use at the Van Cliburn Competition in May.

The 45 pianos, which were used in performance halls and practice rooms during the competition, include Steinway grands and verticals. Throughout the Van Cliburn competition, the pianos were housed at Bass Performance Hall in Ft. Worth, as well as at host homes throughout the area. To be maintained in peak performance condition, they were provided on-demand technical service by Steve Claunch, Steinway Hall's Chief Technician. Claunch will also be on-site to help assist clients select their pianos during the sales event.
