Award Winning Movie Heads Into Blockbuster Weekend at Carmike Cinemas

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Forget Star Trek, Angels and Demons and the new summer blockbusters. Quality movie making got its chance when the independent film touted as one of the best movies of the Spring, the romantic thriller, Say it in Russian, began its limited nationwide release May 4th at Carmike Cinemas in 65 cities nationwide. The award winning film premiered in Pittsburgh, where it was awarded a special proclamation by the City Council of Pittsburgh, who declared May 3, 2009 "Say it in Russian Day" in the City of Pittsburgh. City Councilman William Perduto presented the award to the film's executive producer and to the lead actress, Agata Gotova. Also in attendance for the special premiere were members of the Pittsburgh Police Department and Captain Sheldon Epstein of the Pennsylvania State Police. The company has dedicated 100% of its Pittsburgh proceeds from the film's run to the Pittsburgh Fallen Hero Fund.

It has been described by critics as "launching from romantic to thriller," with "exceptional cinematography." Say it in Russian, starring Agata Gotova, Rade Serbedzija and Faye Dunaway, has won three best feature film awards, two best actor awards and one best cinematography award since beginning its festival circuit at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, and now heads to the Cannes Film Market next week for worldwide distribution.

In Say it in Russian, American Andrew Lamont (Steven Brand) meets a beautiful young Russian girl (Agata Gotova) in Paris. But his idyllic time turns sinister when he goes to Moscow.
