Bogdan Roscic To Join Sony Music Entertainment as President, Sony Music Classical
NEW YORK, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- On April 6, 2009 Bogdan Roscic will become President, Sony Music Classical, it was announced today by Rolf Schmidt-Holtz, CEO, Sony Music Entertainment.
This is a newly created role in which Mr. Roscic will oversee all of Sony Music's Classical operations and report directly to Mr. Schmidt-Holtz.

Most recently, Mr. Roscic was Managing Director for the Decca Music Group in London where he worked with artists including Cecilia Bartoli, Renee Fleming, Valery Gergiev, Juan Diego Florez, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Jonas Kaufmann, Alfred Brendel and Andrea Bocelli.
Before joining Decca in 2006 he was Vice President A&R for Deutsche Grammophon in Hamburg. In this role, he worked with Anna Netrebko, Claudio Abbado, Lang Lang, Pierre Boulez, Rolando Villazon, Gustavo Dudamel, Bryn Terfel, Anne-Sophie Mutter and others.
Mr. Roscic also previously worked as Managing Director of Universal Music Austria, and prior to that he spent over five years as Managing Director and Program Director of a nationwide radio program for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation in Vienna.
He studied Philosophy and Musicology at the University of Vienna where he received his Ph.D. in 1989.
