Country Singer Coffey Anderson to Join Celebs at Valerie Fund Event
Rising star shines as he delivers his unique music and message for young cancer patients at charity event on January 27
NEW YORK, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Coffey Anderson has never taken his talents for granted. Nor has he ever hesitated for a chance to "give back" to a worthy cause, especially one involving children. And that's why the upcoming Valerie Fund event filled so quickly with volunteers eager to bring their own brand of sunshine into the lives of children with cancer and various blood disorders.
This year's event will be held Tuesday, January 27 in the main atrium at the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York Presbyterian, Columbia University Medical Center, located at 3959 Broadway in Washington Heights, between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. For further information, the hospital's main phone number is 212-305-KIDS.
In addition to country singing sensation Coffey Anderson, a range of entertainers and athletes are scheduled to perform, including NFL players James Ihedigbo (NY Jets), Chansi Stuckey (NY Jets), Kareem McKenzie (NY Giants), Mathius Kiwanuka (NY Giants), Anthony Fasano (Miami Dolphins) and Nickelodeon actress Katie Adler. Food will be served and celebrities will be available for autographs, to read or just spend some time with the children.
The future of country music is here and his name is Coffey Anderson
Faith in God -- and belief in himself -- have always been at the heart of everything Coffey Anderson preaches...and performs. And from his earliest appearances on the back of his dad's farm truck in rural Texas, Coffey Anderson has done it for the love of performing. Whether it's for one person, a thousand, a million...it does not matter. Reaching someone does. He combines his love of God with his passion for writing and performing to create energy and ambition the entertainment world sees only rarely. His unique brand of country music blends in distinct influences from pop, contemporary Christian, gospel and soul and has attracted legions of fans from all regions, races, and age groups...and that's just the way he likes it.
Working hard to fulfill the dream
Finding that he can reach the most people through his music, he feverishly continues to compose and perform, completing more than 150 appearances in the last year and a half alone. Coffey has worked with major country music superstars like Jewel, performed at major university concerts, including LSU with Pat Green and Penn State with Chris Cagle and has shared the stage with Jack Ingram, Radney Foster and other major contemporary artists. One thing they'll all agree on is that this kid "has it." He has released five independent albums since 2005 and several of his hit songs are now available on iTunes. He is the 8th most-viewed artist on Godtube.com (www.Godtube.com/Coffey) and the 66th most-viewed artist in the world for 2008 on Youtube.com (www.Youtube.com/CoffeySouthernMan).
Coffey received perhaps his most prominent recognition during his time competing on Nashville Star. He eventually won Fourth Place and was named by the judges as the entertainer and best performer on NBC.
