BOSTON, April 1, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- FRONTLINE's landmark 4.5-hour special "Bush's War," which aired last week on PBS, is breaking series' records for online viewership, with more than 1 million views of the streamed video segments in the first few days following its television broadcast. The popularity of the online video puts "Bush's War" on a trajectory to quickly become the most widely viewed film in FRONTLINE's online archive.

"The unprecedented response to this Web site marks a turning point in FRONTLINE's history, where we truly have become a multi-platform series," says Executive Producer David Fanning. "The primetime television audience is part of a larger footprint that now includes a sizeable number of online viewers as well as those who watch FRONTLINE on-demand, through time-shifting devices, and on digital cable channels." Some recent FRONTLINE titles are also available for purchase via download through iTunes.

A special feature of the "Bush's War" Web site is an interactive annotated timeline of the war on terror featuring 175 embedded video clips and links to more than 400 interviews FRONTLINE has conducted with Bush administration insiders, military commanders, foreign policy experts, journalists and world leaders across the political spectrum.

Now celebrating its 25th anniversary season, FRONTLINE has garnered every major award in broadcast journalism and built a reputation for powerful reporting that tackles the tough, controversial and complex stories that shape our times. Since 2002, FRONTLINE has offered streaming video of full-length programs -- free and with no commercials -- and hosts a video archive of 70+ reports. Beginning with "Bush's War," FRONTLINE's online video is available in full screen format using the latest Flash technology.
