NetStudio Bursts Online With Pioneering Collaborative Script Development Model
NEW YORK, Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- NetStudio.TV, a social networking site specializing in collaboratively developed content, today announced the launch of its script development network, www.NetStudio.TV. Founded by Manoj Narang, the New York-based entity invites its members to jointly create screenplays for potential production and exhibition on the Web.

NetStudio's comprehensive approach leverages the company's proprietary e-collaboration technology and the creative talent of its growing community of writers, reviewers and "showrunners," providing a launch pad for the best emerging screenwriting talent around the globe.
"People want to have structured guidance in the creative process," said CEO Bernadine Santistevan, "and NetStudio fills that need." She added that the company's innovative algorithms enrich this process by enabling and rewarding peer contributions on a broad scale.
Last March NetStudio made its beta debut with a contest inviting fans of rock band Senses Fail to jointly develop a music video script for its popular track, "The Priest & The Matador." The effort, mounted in partnership with the band and its label, Vagrant Records, drew more than 1,000 fans who pitched and rated story ideas. NetStudio produced the winning script for the music video, which can be viewed exclusively on the site for two weeks following today's launch, after which it will air around the globe.
NetStudio president Chris Marcantel said he and the online venture's partners were impressed by the robust participation. "NetStudio is not just a video site. It's a community where writers and reviewers of every level can work together to create shows that they want to see."
NetStudio's collaborative process is conducted in five rounds corresponding to the company's "stages" of development -- pitch, plot, character development, dialogue and writer's block -- with a "showrunner" guiding members through each of these stages.
NetStudio boasts a seasoned team of industry talent, featuring Bryan Cranston as the inaugural showrunner. Bryan, whose numerous credits include Malcolm in the Middle, will shepherd participants in creating scripts for NetStudio's horror anthology.
The company rewards its winning scriptwriters and reviewers with cash prizes and giveaways. Also at stake for winning participants is the chance to have their completed scripts professionally produced.
"NetStudio is an innovator in empowering users to collectively create and evaluate online entertainment," commented NetStudio founder Narang. "And we believe in rewarding our community for their participation."
