Movie Gallery and Hollywood Video Raise More Than $575,000 to Support American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Efforts

DOTHAN, Ala., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Movie Gallery, Inc. (NASDAQ:MOVI), today announced a total donation in excess of $575,000 to the American Red Cross. The funds will support disaster assistance and humanitarian relief efforts in the Gulf States impacted by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

On September 1, 2005, immediately following hurricane Katrina, Movie Gallery, Inc. pledged a $100,000 corporate donation to support the American Red Cross and announced that all 2,700 Movie Gallery and 2,100 Hollywood Video stores would be available as donation sites for customers and associates to pledge their support. Between September 1 and September 30, donations collected from the 4,800 stores exceeded $375,000. In addition, one of Movie Gallery's suppliers, Ingram Entertainment, Inc., matched Movie Gallery's corporate donation of $100,000.
