Hispanic Communications Network Launched

WASHINGTON, Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Hispanic Communications Network (HCN) has been launched as the new moniker for Hispanic Radio Network (HRN), to more accurately convey the company's mission of fulfilling the vast information needs of 41 million U.S. Hispanics. With the launch of the HCN name, the company is diversifying into network television, video production, custom publishing and the Web. HCN produces customized, fully-integrated media campaigns for major government agencies, private foundations, corporate clients, public relations and advertising agencies.

Based in Washington D.C., Hispanic Radio Network (HRN) has produced innovative programming and social marketing campaigns on health, science, education, personal finance, immigration and the environment for more than 20 years. The company has over 200 radio affiliates across the U.S., reaching an audience of 781,700 active listeners per average quarter hour (AQH), and a weekly cume of 5.9 million. HCN's newspaper columns are distributed to 97 Spanish-language newspapers with a weekly circulation of more than 3.5 million.

"Our unique position, as the market leader in informational programming for radio and newspapers, has paved the road for our expansion into network television, custom publishing and the Web," explained Carlos Alcazar, HCN's new president. "Our viewers, listeners, and readers are accustomed to getting high quality programming with 'need to know' information, which positions our clients to receive brand integration and sponsorship opportunities that enhance their marketing goals."

HCN's mission is to empower Hispanics with the tools they need to achieve optimal health, financial literacy, higher education, and career success. HCN's educational campaigns strategically combine media and community outreach to inform and spur audiences to action through its partner non-profit, the Self-Reliance Foundation.
