NEW YORK, Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- fuse, the nation's only all-music viewer influenced television network, has announced that it is the first in the U.S. to offer real time SMS-TV technology. The three new relationship based series -- "Perfect Pair," "Heavy Texting" and "Dumped" -- are the first wave in fuse's new TXT-TV programming initiative, enabling viewers to watch their favorite music videos and use their mobile phones to enter in information about themselves and their partners, and receive personalized return messages, which may also appear on screen before a national audience during the shows. This groundbreaking text- messaging-to-TV-screen technology will be incorporated into fuse's flagship, live daily series, "Daily Download" in the upcoming months.
"This is a new era in television," said Robert Weiss, fuse's Head of Entertainment and Digital Media. "Who better than fuse's music-loving, multi- tasking teens and young adults to be the first audience to redefine interactive television. This is a dream come true for a generation whose primary form of communication has become text messaging -- and it's all happening on fuse."
fuse's TXT-TV is powered by the Netherlands's-based Marketgraph BV proprietary technology. "We are really excited that fuse has become the first American broadcaster to offer Marketgraph's SMS-TV formats and technology, empowering innovation that has greatly vitalized the TV experience abroad, for both viewers and content creators," said Lisa Owens, fuse's Vice President of Business Development.
Airing Monday - Friday at 3:30 PM ET, beginning October 17, "Perfect Pair" allows viewers to ask "how compatible are we?" By simply texting to fuseM (38736) and entering the short code (see below) -- viewers can enter two names, press send and within seconds, the user will receive a message back. Names and answers may appear on screen during the show, but viewers will always get a text back -- whether they're watching Perfect Pair or texting fuseM at a school dance before asking that cute guy across the room if he wants to dance.
fuse's late night attraction, "Heavy Texting," which airs Monday - Friday from 2 AM - 4 AM ET, is a spicier version of fuse's new compatibility series providing harder edged videos and responses. And for those who want to know when the end of their love is near, there is "Dumped," airing Saturday - Sunday at 11 AM ET.
