$100 Million Invitation to Become Official Host City for the New 7 Wonders of the World(R)

ZURICH, Switzerland, October 11/PRNewswire/ -- Cities across the world are now being invited to become the Official Host Venue for the New7Wonders(R) campaign.

The chosen venue will host three globally televised events over a ten-year period, starting with the Official Declaration of the New 7 Wonders of the World(R) on January 1 2007. It will also receive the exclusive license for the campaign's Official Museum.

The New7Wonders(R) events will be on the scale of an Olympic opening ceremony and will follow global media campaigns and an international TV series. The Official Museum will contain models of all the wonders and will become a landmark attraction for people from all over the world.

"We have already received serious expressions of interest from potential Official Host Venues," said Jean-Paul de la Fuente of New7Wonders. "The last time 7 wonders were selected was over 2000 years ago, so the chosen venue will be making history!"

New7Wonders(R) was launched by Bernard Weber. Its aim is to select the New 7 Wonders of the World(R), via the world's first global voting campaign.

Over 18 million votes have already been cast, and more than 100 million votes are expected by 1 January 2007.

The campaign will be followed by the New7Wonders(R) of Nature and the New7Wonders(R) of Technology campaigns, and the construction of the Official Museum.

The New7Wonders(R) Panel of Experts is chaired by the former Director General of UNESCO, Professor Dr. Federico Mayor. Campaign partners include television production giant Endemol and the New7Wonders(R) Global Voting Platform operator British Telecom.
