Violinist Vesko Eschkenazy Joins The Osiris Trio

- Concert Master Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Joins the Renowned Piano Trio

Violinist Vesko Eschkenazy (born in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1970), since 2000 concert master of the Koninklijk Concertgebouw Orchestra, will succeed Peter Brunt as the Osiris Trio's violinist. Vesko Eschkenazy studied at the Bulgarian National Conservatory and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has been a laureate of many violin contests and was a soloist for many renowned orchestras where he played with conductors, such as Ricardo Chailly, Sir Colin Davis, Bernard Haitink, Kurt Masur, and many others, before becoming the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra's concert master in 2000. Eschkenazy plays a 1738 Guarneri del Gesu violin.

The Osiris Trio (consisting of Eschkenazy, Ellen Corver at the piano, and Larissa Groeneveld, cello) was founded in 1988, and has since been playing all over the world. The trio has released six critically acclaimed CDs. Their repertoire is broad and diverse, and ranges from Haydn's piano trio work to the works of contemporary composers. The Osiris Trio was recently nominated by the Classical Music Jury of the VSCD (Association of Theater and Concert Management Boards) in the category of "most impressive performance by a (small) ensemble for chamber music."

The Trio will perform in October of 2005 in Birmingham and Stratford upon Avon, and will then visit the United States in November of 2005 with performances in Washington, Hawaii and Michigan. They will revisit the United States on another tour in March of 2006. Their new program includes work from Smetana, Martinu, Dvorak, Bloch, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and others.

Because of earlier bookings, Vesko Eschkenazy will be replaced for selected concerts of the Osiris Trio in 2005/2006 by Peter Brunt or Vera Beths.
