Operation Love Concert & Benefit is Just One Day Away
DETROIT, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Detroit Branch NAACP in conjunction with New Prospect Baptist Church, Council of Baptist Pastors Detroit and Vicinity, SEIU, UAW, AFL-CIO will host Operation Love on September 18, 2005 beginning at 5 p.m. at Fellowship Chapel located at 7707 West Outer Drive in Detroit. The concert will benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Detroit. Admission is $25 per person and all proceeds will be donated to the Detroit Branch NAACP Operation Love. All of the artists confirmed to appear have donated their time and talent. Scheduled to appear are: The Contours featuring Sylvester Potts, Ortheia Barnes, Black Bottom Collective, Gene Dunlap & Fellowship Chapel Angelic Choir, Fellowship Chapel Mass Choir, Catrina Harding, Levi Johnson Jr. "African Thumb Piano/Kalimba," Luther Badman Keith and his Blues Band, New Prospect Mass Choir, Proof of D-12, Serieux, Jimmy Scott and Penny Wells. There will also be a special call in message from President Bill Clinton. Tickets for the benefit concert can be purchased at Fellowship Chapel. Over $100,000 has already been committed to Operation Love.
