Desperate Housewives With Not So Desperate Hairstyles at the 57th Annual Emmy's

Expert Red Carpet Commentary from Celebrity Hairstylist Marc Anthony

TORONTO, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Desperate Housewives may have been all the talk on the red carpet, but Marc Anthony gives the inside scoop on who had the 57th Annual Emmy's award winning hair.

"All the celebrities were wearing the voluptuous high volume looks that are so hot this fall," says Marc Anthony, celebrity hairstylist who has tended the tresses of red carpet walkers like Catherine Zeta-Jones and Kate Bosworth.

Felicity Huffman may have won the Emmy for best lead actress in a comedy series, but Marc gives Marcia Cross the award for best hair. Who else made Marc Anthony's Best-Tressed list?

Outstanding Actress Hairstyle: Marcia Cross - Hands down had the best hairstyle. She had volume and movement in her gorgeous red hair that complimented her elegant emerald dress. But Mariska Hargitay was a close second. She had a shorter version of the same style and wore it perfectly.

Outstanding Actor Hairstyle: Patrick Dempsey - This is the best way to dress up wavy hair. Men look their best when they don't look like their trying too hard. His look was easily gelled back off his face in a carefree style.

Sleekest Ponytail: Halle Barry - Halle wore this simple sleek look in the best way, it had an easy part and tied elegantly at the nape of her neck. Nicolette Sheridan was another of the red carpet stars with this similar style. It really gave them both a more youthful look.

Chicest Up-do: Terri Hatcher - Up-dos were either shabby-chic twists or sleek sophisticated buns. Terri wore the high-volume shabby-chic twist in its best form. Jennifer Garner, Debra Messing and new comer Maggie Grace also wore this look well. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Mischa Barton went with simple smooth up-dos that are this season's classic choice.

Most Interesting Style: Shannon Elizabeth - A lot of stars played it safe on the Emmy's red carpet this time around. Shannon's hair was interesting without being in your face. It was simple, swept to the left and gently pinned in place with a piece of hair from the right side. It was an interesting twist on the traditional hair-wrapped ponytail.

Who did Marc say needed the most help? "Patricia Arquette won the Emmy for best lead in a drama, but her hair definitely didn't. She tried to revive 40's glamour, but she couldn't pull it off and it just looked like out of style." Marc also says Eva Longoria should have reconsidered her hair before hitting the red carpet. "Eva Longoria always looks amazing but definitely had a miss on this one. She could have easily tied up those loose side curls to be back to her gorgeous self."
