Tickets-for-Charity.com to Raise Funds for Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts Through Ticket Sales for Rolling Stones Shows

United Way of America & America's Second Harvest to Benefit Along with Other Leading National Charities

NEW YORK, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Tickets-for-Charity.com(TM), the Official Online Charitable Ticketing Partner of the Rolling Stones "A Bigger Bang" U.S. Tour, announced today that it will donate funds raised to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina through a partnership with two of the leading official relief agencies: America's Second Harvest and United Way of America.

Tickets-for-Charity.com, a new website which launched in August, was created to give fans a convenient and direct way to support important causes, while gaining access to great seats in hard-to-find locations and for sold-out shows. Along with tickets purchased at face value, fans make a charitable donation and are asked to select a minimum of one or up to four charities to receive equal portions of the donation. 100% of the donation goes to the purchaser's choice of participating charities. More than $400,000 has already been raised in conjunction with the sale of tickets provided by the Rolling Stones since the Tour launched on August 21st.

In response to Hurricane Katrina, Tickets-for-Charity has launched a two- fold initiative to provide support to those devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Fans will be able to direct donations to two of the leading designated relief agencies already partnered with the site: America's Second Harvest and United Way of America. At the same time, Tickets-for-Charity has made a commitment to donate $20 for every ticket purchased in the months of September and October -- up to $100,000 -- directly to United Way of America and America's Second Harvest to support their efforts to provide assistance to the hurricane victims.

United Way of America and America's Second Harvest will lead the list of eleven of the nation's top charitable organizations to which fans can donate on the website: Boys & Girls Clubs of America, CARE, City Year, Jumpstart, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, National Children's Cancer Society, National Federation of the Blind, Partnership for a Drug-Free America, and Red Sox Foundation.

"Events like Hurricane Katrina bring into focus the vital role that public charities and aid organizations play in delivering critical services to those in need," said Jord Poster, founder of Tickets for Charity, LLC and an original member of the Priceline.com founders team. "Recognizing the urgency of the situation, we wanted to organize a high-impact response that could help the hundreds of thousands of families in need right now. We are fortunate to have the ability to mobilize quickly to meet the changing needs of care recipients and the charitable organizations dedicated to serving them."

"We are deeply pleased to be participating on the Tickets-for-Charity platform," said Robert Forney, president and CEO of America's Second Harvest. "This partnership is especially timely, as we are working to provide food to the families who have been displaced by Hurricane Katrina."

Since Katrina first hit Florida, America's Second Harvest has delivered more than 27.2 million pounds of food and groceries to the families affected by Katrina.
