Nearly One-Third of Adults Say They Have Done Nothing to Ensure That Their Finances are Handled Properly If They Should Become Incapacitated or Die, According to Wall Street Journal Online/Harris Interactive Personal Finance Poll

A new Wall Street Journal Online/Harris Interactive Personal Finance Poll finds that nearly two-thirds of U-S adults have taken one or more steps to ensure that their finances are handled properly should they die or become incapacitated; however, the concrete nature of this preparation varies. While nearly half of all adults say they have discussed their wishes with their friends and family, only about one-third have gone as far as drawing up a will, and nearly one-quarter have named a health-care proxy. Other steps taken include designating a power of attorney, working with a financial adviser, and setting up a revocable trust. Of note, nearly one-third of adults say they have done nothing to ensure that their finances are handled properly if they should become incapacitated or die.

Teen People Releases Results of Third Annual Teen Sex Survey

TEEN PEOPLE will release its third annual Teen Sex Survey in its October issue, on stands September 2nd. The survey, which was conducted on-line and includes responses from more than five thousand TEEN PEOPLE readers and Trendspotters between the ages of 13 and 24. Participants were asked to answer one of two groups of questions, one for virgins and the other for non-virgins. A total of four thousand, eight one virgins answered questions, as opposed to one thousand, five hundred twenty six non-virgins. According to the survey, of those teenagers who are sexually active the largest percentage are having sex because they believe they are in love. Of those teenagers not having sex, 42 percent are waiting to meet the right person; maintaining a good reputation is important to most virgins, and 39 percent have taken a pledge to remain chaste until marriage.
