Montel Williams Takes His Talk Show to the Gulf Coast to Meet With Victims of Hurricane Katrina
15th Season Premiere to Focus on Victims, Devastation and Relief Efforts
NEW YORK, Sept. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- On Monday, September 12, THE MONTEL WILLIAMS SHOW will broadcast an hour-long episode devoted to the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. The program, without studio audience, will be comprised entirely of first-person stories gathered on location by Montel Williams and his crew throughout the Gulf Coast.
In Louisiana, Montel will be accompanied by Senator Sharon Weston Broome of Baton Rouge who will accompany him throughout the state and escort him to shelters. In Biloxi, he will be join Mayor A.J. Holloway for a visit to The Biloxi Regional Medical Center.
The program will also take viewers to Houston, where Montel will help reunite families affected by Hurricane Katrina.
"A tragedy of this proportion is so overwhelming, it is often best expressed through individual stories," said Williams. "We wanted to provide a place, apart from the newscasts, for these stories to be told."
