Trans World Entertainment Pledges Support for Hurricane Katrina; Joins Efforts of American Red Cross

ALBANY, N.Y., Sept. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Trans World Entertainment Corporation (NASDAQ:TWMC), a leading specialty retailer of music, video and video game products is assisting Hurricane Katrina relief efforts through an in-store and online contribution effort as well as a pledge from the Company of $50,000 to the American Red Cross.

Trans World, which operates FYE, Coconuts Music and Movies, Wherehouse, CD World, Spec's, Second Spin and Planet Music stores, is encouraging its customers to make a contribution to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina when visiting at any of its 800 stores across the country. Shoppers can simply add on a contribution to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund at the checkout counter and receive a receipt for their contribution. Additionally, customers can go to www.fye.com, www.coconuts.com and www.wherehouse.com to make a quick, simple and secure contribution to the American Red Cross.
