WHAT: A rare in-store autograph session for Paul's new CD, "Les Paul & Friends"

WHERE: Tower Lincoln Center 1961 Broadway New York, NY 10023 www.towerrecords.com/stores/store.asp?storeID=t17866

WHEN: Thursday, September 1 6pm to 8pm

DETAILS: In an exclusive in-store appearance, Les Paul will autograph copies of his new Capitol/EMI CD, "Les Paul & Friends: American Made World Played." In-store attendees will be invited to enter to win a Gibson Les Paul Standard guitar, which will be raffled off to a lucky fan.

An all-star celebration, "Les Paul & Friends" is Paul's first new release since his Grammy-winning 1978 album with Chet Atkins, "Chester & Lester," and the first rock album he has ever recorded. Many of music's top artists joined Les Paul for his high-octane return to the studio, including Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, Billy Gibbons, Buddy Guy, Beth Hart, Steve Miller, Keith Richards, Johnny Rzeznik, Richie Sambora, Neal Schon, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Sting, Joss Stone and more.

At the age of 90, Les Paul is a living icon. Still performing weekly at New York City's Iridium Jazz Club, Paul plays the electric guitars that have carried his name since he first invented them in the 1940s, and teamed with Gibson to perfect and manufacture them in the early 1950s.

One of the authors of modern music, Les Paul's many innovations and contributions to music and recording span his storied life as a musician and inventor, and he has been justly celebrated as a musical genius. Paul was recently inducted into the National Inventors' Hall Of Fame, where he joined other timeless icons of invention, including Alexander Graham Bell, the Wright Brothers and Benjamin Franklin.

Les Paul is a longstanding member of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, and on his June 9 birthday, he was honored with the Songwriters' Hall Of Fame's Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award, marking a fine start to his 90th year.
