Priority ticket information, festival news, updates, special offers and more can be found at http://www.downloadfestival.com/ .

The Lovemakers: The Lovemakers make electronic/rock dance music with a passionate, sexually charged fury. At times aggressive and mythical, other times painfully honest, their music is rich in melody and drama with an underlying commitment to pop hooks. They radiate pure love for what they do, not least of all in their mission to entertain, liberate and, command audiences to once again dance to a rock band. The band was formed in the spring of 2002 by Scott Blonde and Lisa Light and was then joined by Jason Proctor and Josh "The Eagle" Kilbourne. On their Cherrytree/Interscope Records debut album, "Times of Romance", The Lovemakers tease and condemn, love and hate, break up to make up, all to an addictively danceable heartbeat. The first single, "Prepare for the Fight" is already making waves in clubs and radio nationwide.

British Sea Power: British Sea Power play amplified rock music and are based in Brighton, on England's south coast. The band consists of brothers Hamilton and Yan, Woody, Noble and Eamon. BSP came into its own in 2001 when it started to perform and when they released their first album, "Fear Of Drowning", on their own Golden Chariot label. British Sea Power were then signed Rough Trade and released the single "Remember Me", in late 2001 (this song would later be re-recorded and, in 2003, give the band their first UK Top 30 single). In 2002, British Sea began to find themselves playing alongside a series of fine groups including Pulp on their Forestry Commission tour. The group has played with the Flaming Lips and has toured with Interpol and The Strokes. BSP released "The Decline Of British Sea Power" in September 2003 to rave reviews. After spending most of 2004 recording their second BSP album on Rough Trade called "Open Season", the album retains this band's peculiar power while adding new dimensions of poise and prettiness.

Nine Black Alps: Manchester's Nine Black Alps are a seriously intense experience, one where the howls of an overblown amp trying to deal with another superheavyweight riff is always more likely to appear than a cheeky (read: horrible) saxophone solo. Put simply, Nine Black Alps are not likely to appear on a lite-FM playlist. Nine Black Alps are the perfect midpoint between the abattoir-blues of early Black Sabbath and the fried atmospherics of Ride. Nine Black Alps came together through firm friends, dirty pubs and good luck in the summer of 2003. Since then they have perfected a style so heavy that in the studio they play the songs so hard they "feel like we're dead."

Extra Action Marching Band: No one has ever seen Oakland/San Francisco's Extra Action Marching Band actually march ... at least not in a straight line and in the same direction. Instead, the fifteen-to-thirty-five inebriated troubadours ooze, shuffle, loiter, charge, and crawl around embracing their environment and quite frequently their audience. Defying categorization, this mutant lovechild of traditional peripatetic music and ecstatic turmoil consists of a hypnotic drum corps, a heady horn section, and a provocative, uplifting flag squadron that dazzles crowds with their dizzying dances. An Extra Action performance is a bacchanalian, infectiously celebratory, inappropriate, transcendent, freaky spectacle that amuses, arouses, and intoxicates the audience. The flag team alone can stop traffic and often does.
