Mendelsohn Affluent Survey Reveals Bloomberg U.S. Viewers Boast Highest Assets, Income, Investments Among Cable Audiences

NEW YORK, Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloomberg, the leading global provider of data, news and analytics, today announced that for the third straight year, Bloomberg Television(R) has claimed the top spot among cable television networks in the U.S., delivering cable's wealthiest audience, according to the annual Mendelsohn Affluent Survey.

The 2005 Mendelsohn Affluent Survey shows that Bloomberg Television viewers have the highest average household income, the highest average total assets and the highest average total real estate assets of any cable network measured. Viewers of Bloomberg Television have an average household income of approximately $180,000, eight percent higher than the 2nd ranked cable network and 12 percent higher than the next closest cable news network.

"Bloomberg Television is an essential tool for people who are serious about obtaining the most complete and accurate business and financial news," said Kenneth Kohn of Bloomberg Television. "Bloomberg Television's 1,600 journalists in 127 Bloomberg News bureaus around the world enable us to provide the speed, detail and analysis no one else in the cable television can match. This survey further proves that today's most influential audiences rely on Bloomberg Television."

In addition, according to the survey, Bloomberg Television's audience includes the highest concentration of chief officers (including those with titles of President, CEO, or COO). These results reinforce findings from the MediaMark Research Inc. (MRI) Spring 2005 Survey of American Consumers released earlier this year, which placed Bloomberg Television at the top among the most affluent, educated and professionally successful audience in cable television.

The Mendelsohn Affluent Survey is based on adult heads of households with household income of $85,000 or more. This universe totals 45,000,000 heads of house comprising 21% of all adults in the U.S.
