South Mountain Technologies Ships First Front Projectors

Provides Engines and OEM Final Assembly for InFocus

SHENZHEN, China, July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- South Mountain Technologies (SMT) Ltd., today announced the first shipment of front projectors from its new manufacturing facility. The final product is the InFocus ScreenPlay(R) 5000. This is the first of three product platforms that SMT expects to produce for InFocus in the third quarter of 2005.

SMT recently met the stringent certification requirements for producing finished front-projection products, such as United Laboratories (UL). Chief Executive Officer David Glaess stated, "We are pleased to be ramping both our engine manufacturing and front projector assembly this early in the year." Chief Operating Officer Yang Fuzhong added, "Although we have not yet achieved our yield and cycle time targets we have developed a detailed plan to reach them within the next quarter."

SMT will serve external customers in addition to its joint venture parents. In this case, the InFocus ScreenPlay(R) 5000 offers uncompromised native 720p high-definition images and boasts three high-temperature poly- silicon active matrix LCD displays.
