From director/producer Iain Softley and writer Ehren Kruger comes Universal Pictures' contemporary supernatural thriller The Skeleton Key, starring Kate Hudson, Gena Rowlands, Peter Sarsgaard, Joy Bryant and John hurt. The film is produced by Daniel Bobker, Iain Softley and Double Feature Films' Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher.

Set largely in the dark atmospheric backwoods just outside of New Orleans, the story centres on Caroline (Hudson), a live-in nurse hired to care for an elderly woman's ailing husband in their home...a foreboding and decrepit mansion in the Louisiana delta. Intrigued by the enigmatic couple, their mysterious and secretive ways and their rambling house, Caroline begins to explore the old mansion. Armed with a skeleton key that unlocks every door, she discovers a hidden attic room that holds a deadly and terrifying secret.

The title track has been remixed by one of the era's most definitive DJs and producers - Steve Lawler. Famous for his 'motorway raves' in the early Nineties, legendary residency at Space, Ibiza, an acute ear for a tune and a technical ability that is second to none, he was chosen by Iain Softley himself. "Steve has a produced a track that compliments the film perfectly" says Iain. "It's dark, tribal and hypnotic."

The Skeleton Key will open in the UK & Ireland on August 5th.
