MIAMI, July 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The newly hatched sextet group COQ ROQ(SM) is bursting out of the coop with bawk rawk, a plucky new music genre that combines the latest in hard-working rock and easy-eating chicken.

The band, sporting chicken masks reminiscent of the Internet phenomenon "Subservient Chicken," found a muse in the newest product at BURGER KING restaurants, BK(TM) CHICKEN FRIES. Like COQ ROQ, BK CHICKEN FRIES rebel against convention -- the innovative, all white meat chicken breast strips in the shape of French fries are shaking up the establishment's old-fashioned chicken mentality. Tucked into a highly portable container that fits into a car's cup-holder, CHICKEN FRIES aren't your mother's strips or your baby sister's nuggets, this is a "box that rocks" and it has VIP seats at every COQ ROQ show.

For those counting their chickens, COQ ROQ features six rockers, including head bird Fowl Mouth on vocals, lead guitar and strutting; band mates The Talisman and Kubuki back him on electric guitars with Free Range on bass, Sub- Sonic on drumsticks and Firebird providing pyrotechnics within the pecking order.

COQ ROQ's smash debut, "Cross the Road," is an example of bawk rawk guaranteed to raise the roost, as are "Bob Your Head," "One Armed Bandit" and "Nice Box."

The band will be featured in BURGER KING's new music video-style ads that will air on network and cable television, including MTV and VH-1, starting today. Directed by Paul Hunter, whose previous work includes videos for Madonna, Lenny Kravitz, Eminem and Marilyn Manson, the ads will prominently showcase both the band and BK(TM) CHICKEN FRIES. Miami-based Crispin, Porter & Bogusky created the ads.
