Bright Things plc Acquires Technology Licensing Company PushPlay Interactive LLC

Combined Intellectual Property Portfolio and Product Development Efforts Positions Bright Things as the Leader in Interactive DVD Games Consoles

LONDON, July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Bright Things plc, the developer of an educational DVD games console, Bubble, and associated software titles for the pre-school market, announced the acquisition of US-based PushPlay Interactive LLC, a technology licensing company. The acquisition provides Bright Things with the entire intellectual property portfolio developed by PushPlay Interactive along with several technology assets and relationships that will help Bright Things expand into additional vertical markets.

"The acquisition of PushPlay accelerates our pursuit of intellectual property rights within the interactive DVD games console space and provides Bright Things with a solid platform to extend our products into new markets," stated Dominic Wheatley, chief executive officer of Bright Things plc. Co-founder and CEO of PushPlay Interactive, Craig Gravina, will take the role of VP Intellectual Property & Advanced Technology. Bright Things will launch Bubble this summer in the UK, and plans to roll out into the US and other European markets thereafter. Bright Things, which listed on AIM in Spring 2004, has signed an agreement with Bandai UK Ltd for distribution of Bubble in the United Kingdom and Eire. The company has also signed content agreements with BBC Worldwide, HIT Entertainment, Entertainment Rights and Chorion for the development of a library of software titles based on the content holders' popular children's television brands.
