Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster Confirm That They are Expecting a Child

NEW YORK, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster confirmed today that Penny, 34 is pregnant. Stewart, the Grammy-award winning Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and his fiancee, model/photographer Penny Lancaster held off confirming earlier reports since she just reached her 12th week of pregnancy and at this point, they were able to notify family members of their exciting news.

Their baby is due early December and they plan to marry in Spring 2006.

Said Stewart: "I am overjoyed and extremely proud to be able to confirm that my fiancee Penny is carrying our baby. I count myself blessed to have bestowed upon me the honour of fatherhood again with Penny whom I love and cherish so much."

Lancaster and Stewart have been together for nearly six years. This will be Ms. Lancaster's first child. Stewart has five children from previous relationships -- Kimberly, 25 and Sean, 24 by first wife Alana Stewart; Ruby, 17 with former girlfriend Kelly Emberg; Renee, 13 today and Liam, 10 are from his marriage to second wife Rachel Hunter.
