Amerie's sophomore album, Touch (Sony Urban/Columbia) was one of the year's most highly-anticipated R&B/pop releases, debuting at #3 on Billboard's Hot 200 chart. Touch is Amerie's first new full-length album since her debut, All I Have, entered the Billboard Top 200 bestselling album chart at #9 in August 2002 and remained on that chart for more than six months. All I Have peaked at #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album chart. The album has been certified gold by the RIAA and has sold more than 600,000 copies in the U.S. alone.
From the Sophomore album, Touch, the second single video and title track, "Touch," produced by Lil Jon, recently debuted on BET's 106th & Park.
Boston Herald...on the Summer Jam Concert June 2005
"It wasn't until R&B darling Amerie took the stage that some actual talent reared its head, as the rickety funk of her hit "1 Thing" forced the crowd to their feet for the first time in the evening."
Tracks on Touch are produced by Rich Harrison ("1 Thing," "Right Now" Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce's "Crazy In Love"), Lil' Jon, and "Touch" is written by platinum songwriter Sean Garrett (Usher's "Yeah," "Lose My Breath," "Girl," "Soldier" for Destiny Child and other top hits).
Amerie appeared as "Mia Thompson" in the blockbuster 2004 comedy, "First Daughter," starring Katie Holmes and Michael Keaton and directed by Forest Whitaker. "First Daughter" is now available on DVD.
This event is brought to you by Feenix Entertainment, James Lassiter of Overbrook Entertainment, Lori Leslie of Southern Girl Inc. and sponsored by Trace Magazine, A&R.biz, and Rocawear with a Live Broadcast by XM Radio.
