Oreo(R) Announces Casting Call for National 'Milk's Favorite Jingle' Contest

Randy "The Dawg" Jackson Helps Kick-Off Contest; Grand Prize is $10,000 and Chance to Star in Oreo Radio Commercial

NEW YORK, June 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- "Oh, oh, oh, Ice cold milk and an Oreo Cookie...They forever go together -- what a classic combination..." Remember that classic "Oreo and Milk" jingle? Well, this summer Oreo is looking for a new combination -- Oreo fans who love to sing! "America's Favorite Cookie" is launching its first-ever national "Milk's Favorite Jingle" contest in search of people who can add a new twist to this timeless tune.

From karaoke lovers to aspiring stars to those who just like to sing in the shower, the "Milk's Favorite Jingle" contest invites small groups (2-4 people) to lend their personal music style to the actual "Oreo and Milk" jingle lyrics. Ten finalist groups will receive $1,000 and a trip to Los Angeles, Calif. to compete in the finale event which will be hosted by Randy "The Dawg" Jackson. The GRAND PRIZE winning group will win $10,000 and an opportunity to record an Oreo radio commercial.

"Oreo and milk is a classic combination that's connected many generations," says Randy Jackson. "I know from my experience in the industry that music also has a powerful way of connecting people, so it makes perfect sense that Oreo would invite people to showcase their talents by singing their rendition of the 'Oreo and Milk' jingle."

Let the Singing Begin!

The "Milk's Favorite Jingle" contest runs from May 18, 2005 through July 14, 2005 and will offer two ways to enter -- live/in-person performances at select local events in New York City, Chicago, Denver, Miami and Dallas, or via videotape sent by mail. One (1) local finalist group will be selected at each of the five (5) events and five (5) additional finalist groups will be selected from entries submitted via mail. "So whether you like to twist, lick or dunk, we're inviting people to put down their milk and cookies, pick up a microphone and step into the national spotlight to sing our 'Oreo and Milk' jingle."

Contest Criteria

To enter, groups of two to four people, who are residents of the 50 U.S. or DC, ages 7 and older, must perform a live rendition of the "Oreo and Milk" jingle -- up to two minutes long -- at one of the five designated local events, or by submitting a videotaped rendition of the "Oreo and Milk" jingle via mail to OREO "Milk's Favorite Jingle" contest, P.O. Box 5403, Blair, NE 68009-5403. Entries must be received by July 14, 2005. Judging of mailed entries limited to 5,000 randomly selected entries.

Ten finalist groups will be selected based on vocal ability, originality and creativity of performance, overall stage presence and enthusiasm as well as appropriateness to the Oreo image.
