ESPN2 to Televise Philadelphia Boxing Card

HARRISBURG, Pa., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- On behalf of Secretary of the Commonwealth Pedro A. Cortes, Greg Sirb, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission, today announced that ESPN2's first Tuesday Night Fights broadcast of 2005 will be from The Legendary Blue Horizon in Philadelphia on Tuesday, May 17.

"We are thrilled to have this opportunity to showcase professional boxing in Pennsylvania," Sirb said. "This also gives us a platform to showcase some of Pennsylvania's homegrown talent."

The card features a double main event. One co-feature will pit undefeated Philadelphia native, "Fast" Eddie Chambers, against Ross Purity of Norman, Oklahoma. The other main event is highlighted by the comeback of former World Featherweight Champion Kevin "The Flushing Flash" Kelley who will take on Jose "El Gallo" Reyes.

The undercard will start at 7 p.m. while the televised broadcast will air at 8 p.m.

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission regulates professional boxing, kickboxing and wrestling events held in the Commonwealth. The Commission also licenses and regulates athletic agents conducting business in Pennsylvania.
