Mendocino Art Center Schedules the Free 46th Annual Summer Arts Fair With Food and Music for July 16 & 17
MENDOCINO, Calif. and FORT BRAGG, Calif., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- A 46-old-old tradition continues as the Mendocino Art Center hosts its Summer Arts Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., July 16 & 17. Admission is free.
The fair takes place on Art Center's garden property near the Mendocino Headlands in Mendocino, a national historic preservation district.
Over two days, a small village of artists, artisans, musicians and entertainers come, set up their displays, then just as quickly disappear until the next year. The fair features an exciting mixture of artwork in a variety of styles, materials and techniques.
Creative artists working with blown and stained glass alternate with jewels of diverse kinds, fiber wearables, a wide range of work in ceramics, both functional and sculptural, hand created wood objects, watercolor and oil paintings, photography and prints. The list goes on with metal sculpture, dolls, tiles, fountains, digital art, toys and much more.
Participants are a mixture of local and regional artists with always a few from southern California and other states.
To round out the festivities, the porch in front of the Mendocino Theater is transformed into a stage featuring jazz, blues, folk and ethnic music provided by members of the local musical community. Fair food will also be available provided by a group of volunteers from a local non-profit group. Also offered are regional wines and beers, Jennie's delectable blackberry sundaes, coffee and sweet treats.
The fair is an opportunity to view and perhaps purchase unique and excellent creative work, support the local and regional art community and help insure the continued economic viability of the Mendocino Art Center, a valuable resource for the cultural life of the north coast.
