Celebrities and Dancing Horses Raise Funds for Cancer Research This Saturday!
LOS ANGELES, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday, May 7th, Leslie Charleson (long-time star of General Hospital) will join surprise celebrity guests at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank for a Broadway Style Equestrian Extravaganza to raise funds for Cancer Research. Fiesta of the Spanish Horse, a night of spectacular equestrian entertainment celebrating Cinco de Mayo and the heritage of the Spanish bred horse, will showcase dazzling displays of the inimitable magnificence and agility of Andalusian, Lusitano, Peruvian Paso, Paso Fino, Mangalara Marchador and other beautiful horses. The evening will also feature famed Hollywood stunt rider Tad Griffith, world renowned trainer and exhibition rider Ramon Bacerra, music by Aconcagua, Flamenco and Folklorico dancers, roping, trick riding, vendors, food, silent auction, an opportunity drawing for a beautiful Peruvian Paso gelding and more!
This unique event, coordinated by Asman & Associates, raises money for USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Cancer is second only to heart disease as the leading cause of death in the US. We are proud to contribute to organizations working to eradicate this disease. USC band members and mascot "Traveler" will make special appearances. Come see this magnificent horse up close!
"Spanish-bred horses have become part of so many different cultures," says event producer Joanne Asman. "In one evening we include heart-stopping trick riding demonstrations, south-of-the-border Charro riding and exquisite, formal equestrian tradition. The beauty and versatility of these animals is amazing." Add Folklorico, Mariachi and Aztec Music and Dancing and you have a "Broadway Show" that won't quit.
In addition to Saturday's evening Extravaganza, a multi-breed, 4-day US-Equestrian Rated Horse Show will be held May 5-8. Over 300 Spanish bred horses will compete for points towards their year-end finals.
Last year over 4,000 people attended Fiesta, which begins at 6:30 P.M. Entertainment, music, dancers, vendors and horses will be on hand from 3:00 P.M., when gates open. To honor Mother's Day, mothers in attendance will be given special gifts. The Los Angeles Equestrian Center is located at 480 Riverside Drive in Burbank. End Box Seats: $30; General Admission: $20; Children/Seniors: $15; Best Box Seats and Arena Floor Tables already sold out! Further information and tickets: (818) 840-9066.
