XM Satellite Radio and Boston Red Sox Announce Exclusive Marketing Deal

XM to be official satellite radio partner of the Red Sox

BOSTON and WASHINGTON, April 7, 2005 -- XM Satellite Radio, the nation's leading provider of satellite radio with more than 3.2 million subscribers, has announced a multi-year marketing partnership with the Boston Red Sox. Under the agreement, XM will be the official satellite radio partner of the Red Sox.

Last fall, XM and Major League Baseball signed an 11-year deal to broadcast games played by every MLB team, including the Boston Red Sox.

Today's agreement between XM and the Red Sox includes a variety of customized activities to promote XM radios and XM's broad range of sports, music, news, talk and entertainment programming, including prominent signage in, and on-premise promotions at, Fenway Park throughout the season.

"This partnership gives XM the opportunity to provide unparalleled access to the national pastime," said Hugh Panero, President and Chief Executive Officer, XM Satellite Radio. "Our intent is to give each Red Sox fan the content they desire even if they no longer call Boston home."

MLB live play-by-play broadcasts are featured on XM channels 176 through 189. MLB En Espanol, which offers a mix of live game coverage and talk programs in Spanish, airs on XM channel 190.

Boston Red Sox fans also can tune into MLB Home Plate (XM Channel 175), the first 24-hour Major League Baseball channel, for up-to-date news, highlights and analysis from around the league. The general weekday schedule of MLB Home Plate is available by logging on to xmradio.com.

XM is the leading provider of live sports in satellite radio. XM is the official satellite radio network of Major League Baseball, NASCAR, the PGA TOUR, the Indy Racing League, and the college sports conferences Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Big Ten, and Pac-10. XM also carries ESPN Radio, ESPNews Radio, Fox Sports Radio, and Sporting News Radio. The latest models of XM radio receivers, such as the portable Delphi XM2go MyFi radio, have sports tickers that display current scores for professional and college sports teams.
