Momentum Continues for MyWeather's Market-Exclusive Personal MicroCast(R)
Four New Stations added to MyWeather Roster; Partner Stations Eclipse $1 Million in Sponsorship Revenue
MADISON, Wis., April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- MyWeather, LLC, the leading provider of client-branded weather solutions to the media industry, has launched its market-exclusive product, Personal MicroCast(R) at KRON/San Francisco, Calif. (Young), WLEX/Lexington, Ky. (Cordillia), WREX/Rockford, Ill. (Quincy), and WZZM/Grand Rapids, Mich. (Gannett). These stations now offer viewers personalized weather services across various media, extending their on-air brands to the Internet, computer desktops and wireless devices. MyWeather also announces widespread success from the newly created Assisted Sales Program, with over one million dollars generated through local sponsorships in less than five months.
"When our viewers want West Michigan's most accurate weather information, we want My 13 On-Target Forecast to be their primary source, whether it's on- air, online, or on their cell phones," said Tim Geraghty, News Director, WZZM- TV. "Personal MicroCast gives us an edge in the market that other television stations simply cannot re-create."
Personal MicroCast, using patented, hyper-local forecasting technology, lets stations give their viewers personalized online weather forecasts, daily e-mails, and severe weather alerts via e-mail, desktop and wireless devices. All elements are branded by the station, appear to come directly from the station's weather team, and provides the station with all revenue generated from sponsors.
"We're providing our station partners with the necessary tools to create branding and sponsorship value, which allow them to generate revenue from more non-traditional sources," said Vincent Perez, Senior Director, Major Accounts at MyWeather. "Through creative application, we've created an entire sales system that is results oriented and easy to execute."
WZZM, KRON and WLEX also added Live Online(TM), a desktop application that pushes breaking news, sports and weather alerts to viewers at their computers. Live Online seamlessly integrates with a station's current news delivery systems - such as RSS feeds, MyWeather's personalized weather content, and Rovion's BlueStream(TM) motion video technology.
