Ratings Driven By LIVE Finale of 'The Ultimate Fighter'

Network Averages 1.6 Million Viewers in April, Up 55% vs. Year Ago

NEW YORK, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Coming off its highest rated quarter ever (1Q05), Spike TV finishes April 2005 ranked as the #1 network with Men 18-49 and M18-34 in Primetime among ad supported cable networks.

According to Nielsen Media Research for April 2005 (March 28-April 24) in Primetime, the network averaged 1.6 million viewers P2+, up 55% as compared to last year. Spike TV lead the way among all cable networks with Men 18-49 during April, earning a 1.0 rating, delivering 520,000 viewers, up 25% versus YAGO and with M18-34, garnering a .9 rating and 226,000 viewer delivery, a 29% increase compared to YAGO.

Spike TV was also successful with adult viewers in April. The network ranked in basic cable's top 5 for both Adults 18-49 and 18-34. The network's average delivery of a .8/882,000 among Adults 18-49 and a .8/391,000 with A18-34, represented a 33% increase in each demo over last year.

Spike TV's Primetime ratings performance was driven by the LIVE finale of The Ultimate Fighter on Saturday, April 9 (9:00-11:30 PM, ET) which had 2.6 million viewers tuning-in. Spike TV experienced triple digit gains in key male demos and viewership -- 3.3/848,000 Men 18-34, up 562% versus YAGO; 2.7/1.4 million M 18-49, up 229% versus YAGO. (In 2004, Spike TV telecast MXC, WWE Velocity and WWE Confidential). The finale was also the most watched show for Men 18-34 on television that day, including among the broadcast networks with a 3.3/848,000.

C.S.I. also won its time period for the month among ad supported cable nets in April. The crime-drama's weeknight (Monday -- Friday from 8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) telecast averaged 2.7 million viewers P2+. The series ranks #1 in a number of key men and adult demos for April 2005 -- 1.0/544,000 with Men 18-49; .8/215,000 with M18-34; 1.2/1,289,000 with Adults 18-49 and 1.0/531,000 with Adults 18-34.
