Jann Carl and Lara Spencer Go Behind-The-Scenes of the Couple's Life and Their Upcoming Wedding

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning Thursday, April 28th and throughout the month of May, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, the #1 syndicated newsmagazine, and its #1 rookie spin-off THE INSIDER will air a series of world exclusive interviews with Mary Kay LeTourneau and Vili Fualaau together. The highly-sought-after interview will be conducted by ET's Jann Carl and THE INSIDER's Lara Spencer who will visit the couple at their new Seattle home to learn the truth behind their love affair and upcoming wedding. Both shows have also been granted exclusive footage and photos of the couple's wedding, it was announced today by executive producer Linda Bell Blue. "Mary Kay and Villi trusted ET and THE INSIDER to tell their story," says Bell Blue.

During the interviews, they open up about the journey and struggles they have endured, and their excitement to embark upon a new life together with their children Audrey (7) and Alexis (6). Letourneau says, "There are tragic things that happen in everyone's life, but those hard times pass. We're together and we are hopeful." After many years of separation, the couple has decided to put their past behind them and focus on starting a new life together. Fualaau says, "She's the same person I fell in love with a long time ago. I'm surprised that she's here and alive. I'm just really proud of her." The couple will also discuss the details of their wedding plans, revealing that some of Mary Kay's children, will be included in the wedding party.

Their relationship developed in 1996, when Mary Kay (then 34) was a sixth grade teacher in suburban Seattle, and Vili (then 12) was her student. Their platonic relationship soon evolved into an intimate romance. Once their illicit affair became public, Mary Kay was arrested and pleaded guilty to second-degree child rape, which carried a seven and a half year prison sentence of which she served six months. A month after her release, Mary Kay violated parole by having intimate relations with Vili again and was sent back to prison for another seven years, the remainder of her sentence. In 1997, Mary Kay gave birth to Audrey, her first child with Vili. Then the following year while in prison, she gave birth to their second daughter, Alexis. Vili's mother was awarded custody of both daughters while Mary Kay remained incarcerated. In August 2004, Mary Kay was released from prison at the age of 42. Since then she has reunited with Vili, now 22.
