Profiles of Top Draft Prospects Available Exclusively on Video on Demand
PHILADELPHIA, April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- As football fans gear up for the annual NFL Draft, eager to see who their favorite teams will be adding to their rosters, Comcast is teaming up with NFL Network to offer an unprecedented look at this year's hottest draft prospects on Comcast's ON DEMAND service.
Through May 7, Comcast Digital Cable customers with ON DEMAND can view profiles of more than 50 top draft prospects any time they want, from the comfort of their own home. The profiles, produced by NFL Network, include highlight footage of the players' college careers and their workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine as well as key statistics. From Alex Barron, Florida State's standout offensive tackle, to California quarterback Aaron Rodgers, fans can get the inside information about the players they think their teams should pick - and have picked when the draft is over - all at no additional charge. This year's NFL Draft takes place April 23-24 in New York.
"Video on demand is changing the way people watch television and enjoy their favorite sports, and we're pleased to be able to offer sports fans this exciting new way to experience the excitement of the NFL draft," said Page Thompson, Vice President and General Manager of Comcast ON DEMAND. "Comcast is committed to providing customers with the most customized sports experience available and giving our customers more value, choice and control in home entertainment."
To view NFL Draft prospect profiles, Comcast Digital Cable customers can go to the ON DEMAND main menu, and select the Sports & Fitness category, then NFL Network and NFL Draft. Customers can browse the player profiles alphabetically or by position.
In addition to the player profiles available on Comcast ON DEMAND, Comcast Digital Cable customers can enjoy comprehensive NFL Draft coverage on NFL Network, the league's 24/7/365 channel. NFL Network will offer more than 29 hours of NFL Draft coverage, from mock drafts, to being live on-site on draft weekend, and breaking down the selection in the days and weeks after the draft. NFL Network will be customers' best choice to follow all the action of their favorite team.
The availability of NFL Draft player profiles follows the tremendously successful "rookie" season of NFL Network On Demand on Comcast, which featured extended highlights of each NFL game available on Comcast ON DEMAND the day after the games were played. Over the course of the season, Comcast customers viewed game highlights more than 8.6 million times.
In addition to NFL Network On Demand, Comcast's ON DEMAND service features more than 3,000 programs that customers can watch at any time, including hit movies, children's programs, music videos, instructional shows, news and information programming and more.
